Some units look like they're on their last leg - but that's not always the case. This Gibson condenser came to us struggling, and once we opened it up, the reason was pretty clear. Years of built-up grime on the coils, a blower wheel caked with debris, and a filter that had seen better days. The system wasn't broken. It was just buried.

When coils get that dirty, the unit can't release heat properly. It runs longer, works harder, and still doesn't cool the way it should. Your energy bill creeps up and your house stays warmer than it ought to. A lot of people assume the system is dying when it's really just overdue for some serious attention.

We pulled the evaporator coil out and went to work - foam cleaner on the fins, a good rinse, and hands-on cleaning of every component we could get to. The blower wheel alone had a serious layer of buildup restricting airflow. We also checked refrigerant levels while we were in there, which is a standard part of any solid HVAC tune-up.

What you end up with after a service like this is a system that actually functions the way it was designed to. Better airflow. More efficient cooling. Less strain on the compressor. It's not glamorous work, but it makes a real difference - and it's a whole lot cheaper than a premature replacement.

If your AC is running constantly, struggling to keep up, or just seems off, there's a good chance it needs more than a new filter. Regular HVAC maintenance catches these issues before they turn into expensive repairs. This is exactly the kind of work we do every day.
