Here's what we were working with - an older heat pump system that had clearly run its course. The outdoor unit was worn down, the air handler inside was dusty and dated, and the thermostat was a basic Honeywell with no smart features. The homeowner was dealing with inconsistent comfort and a system that just couldn't keep up anymore.

We pulled out the old equipment and swapped in a new Goodman heat pump on the outside and a fresh air handler on the inside. Goodman is a solid, dependable brand - great performance, good warranties, and built to handle the demands of Florida heat. The new air handler fits cleanly into the same closet space and is a completely different piece of equipment compared to what was in there before.

We also replaced the old thermostat with a Honeywell Home Smart thermostat. That's a bigger deal than it sounds. The old unit was a basic manual model - no scheduling, no remote access, nothing. The new one connects to Wi-Fi so the homeowner can control the temperature from their phone, set schedules, and actually keep an eye on what the system is doing. It's a simple upgrade that makes a real difference day to day.

When a heat pump starts struggling to cool the house, running constantly, or making unusual noises, those are signs the system is on its way out. At that point, repairs start adding up fast - and you're still left with an inefficient system that's costing you more every month. A full replacement like this one gives you a fresh start with better efficiency, better comfort, and a lot less worry.

This kind of full system upgrade - outdoor unit, air handler, and thermostat - is exactly the type of work we do regularly. Every component works together as a matched system, which means better performance and fewer headaches down the road.
